Peopled by around 1100 inhabitants (called Quinciatons and Quinciatonnes), the village spreads out over 2205 hectares, 830 ha of which are planted with vines. It has been found that under Roman dominion a land owner, (a retired Roman legionary) called Quintius whose name is at the origin of that of the commune, lived here. Wonderful views (hiking routes for all levels) dotted with vestiges of history (3 châteaux, old stones and buildings in a lot of the hamlets) and a warm welcome on all the wine estates will delight tourists looking for simplicity an authenticity.

This is the second Beaujolais vinegrowing commune in size, Quincié spreads from the foot of Mont Brouilly to the portals of Beaujeu and is renowned for its Beaujolais-Villages wines; The vine has found its home here, clinging to our granitic, well-sited slopes that give fruity, well-built and full-bodied wine brimming whith charm and finesse.
